Yang Zi (English name: Andy Yang) is a Chinese actress and singer who started as a child actress. She graduated from Beijing Film Academy (BFA) in 2014 and is considered to be one of the “Four Dan Actresses of the Post-90s Generation” by Southern Metropolis Daily. Yang Zi debuted in the 2002 TV series “Ru Ci Chu Shan” and in 2004, she made her big-screen debut in the film “Girl's Diary”, for which she received the ‘Outstanding Child Actor’ nomination at the 12th Chinese Film Tongniu Awards. In 2005, she became a household name after appearing in the popular Mainland Chinese sitcom “Home with Kids”. In 2012, she won the ‘Best Newcomer Award’ at the 14th Golden Phoenix Awards for the thriller film “Insistence”. In 2016, her role as Qiu Yingying in the urban female-centric hit drama “Ode to Joy”, led to her being nominated for the ‘Best Supporting Actress Award’ at the 23rd Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards and ‘Best Actress Award’ the 29th China TV Golden Eagle Awards.
