Kim Han Bin, better known by his stage name B.I, is a South Korean singer and rapper who began his career as a member of iKON in 2015 until his departure from the group in 2019. During his years in the group, he was the leader, lead rapper, dancer and main producer. In 2014, he appeared alongside bandmate Bobby in the third season of the reality television rap contest Show Me The Money. B.I is credited in the production and songwriting of all of the tracks in iKON 2015 debut album Welcome Back and of various songs from fellow YG Entertainment artists like WINNER (Empty), Epik High (Born Hater), Black Pink (Whistle) and Psy. On June 12, 2019, B.I announced his departure from the group and took to his personal Instagram to deliver a letter of apology. Shortly after that YG Entertainment confirmed B.I's contract had been terminated. On September 28, 2020, IOK Company issued a statement about appointing B.I as the Executive Director of the agency. In September 2021 he was sentenced to a probationary period of 4 years for purchasing the illegal drugs marijuana and LSD from an acquaintance, 'A', from May of 2015 through April of 2016. . He was also ordered to pay a fine of 1.5 million Won (~$1,300 USD) and serve 80 hours of community service as well as 40 hours of drug education. He became the first K-Pop star to make a solo appearance at the digital concert series Grammy's Global Spin event that airs on January 4, 2022. On February 17, 2022, B.I’s agency IOK Company revealed that he signed a contract with Wasserman, a major American agency. On February 3, 2023, it was announced that B.I would step down as Head of 131 Label in order to focus on his music, and the label would be managed by a brand-new team of “entertainment business professionals.” (Source: Wikipedia).
