Chang Seung Yeon is a South Korean singer, dancer and former member of CLC (short for CrystaL Clear). She graduated from Seoul Performing Arts High School and before debuting she was a backup dancer for G.NA and appeared on “G.NA’s Secret” MV and on BTOB‘s “Beep Beep” MV. She also performed with fellow trainees in street busking events benefiting children with disabilities. She officially debuted in 2015 as the group's leader, main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper with their 1st mini-album "First Love". In 2016, the group debuted in Japan with the EP "High Heels" and the following year they changed their concept to a move hip-hop style. CLC continued to promote and release music until late 2020 when issues began with CUBE Entertainment and the group members' contracts. In March 2022, she announced her departure of the group and the company as her contract expired. A few months later, CUBE Entertainment released a statement saying the group will be "discontinued" as they had no more activities for them. In 2023, she made her debut as a soloist with the single "Not a Friend" and also signed with Wild Entertainment, the same agency as fellow CLC member Sorn. A bit later, Sorn announced on a Tik-Tok post that CLC had actually not disbanded, just on an indefinite hiatus and blamed CUBE Entertainment for allegedly not wanting to promote them, so the actual group status is not clear.
