Fan Kuang Yao is a Taiwanese actor born in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from the Drama Department of the Private Huagang Arts School, the Chinese Culture University’s Chinese Drama Department, and the Graduate School of Arts’ Drama Group at Chinese Culture University. Fan began his career in the performing arts while attending Huagang Arts School in the 1990s. In 1993, he joined the "Pingfeng Performing Class" and became a disciple of Li Kuo Hsiu. In August 1999, he formally apprenticed under cross-talk master Wu Chao Nan, focusing on the art of cross-talk. In 2008, he married fellow theater colleague Liu Wei Ling.
