Jang Dong Woo is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor, musical actor and member of INFINITE (인피니트). He graduated from Inchang High School and later obtained associate degrees in Dance Arts from Seoul National University of Arts and in Applied Musicology from Daekyung University. He also earned a bachelor's degree from Hoseo University and a master's degree from Sejong University, both in Applied Music. He made his debut in June 2010 as the group's main rapper, main dancer and vocalist with their first EP, "First Invasion". In 2012, the single "The Chaser" was named Billboard's third-best K-pop song of the 2010s decade and was included in Rolling Stone's list of 75 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time in 2020. The band was managed by Woollim Entertainment (울림엔터테인먼트). He debuted as a musical actor in 2015 with a role in the musical "In The Heights" (인 더 하이츠), and he debuted as a soloist with his first mini-album, "Bye" in March 2019. He enlisted for his mandatory military service on April 15, 2019, and was discharged on November 15, 2020. After being released, he continued to do various musicals and promoting as a solo artist and as part of INFINITE. He left Woollim Entertainment in March 2021 but remained part of the group and later signed with BigBoss Entertainment. In May 2023, it was reported that INFINITE established its own agency, Infinite Company (인피니트 컴퍼니), with Kim Sung Kyu as the company representative. The agency handles all promotional activities for the group while each member remains in their own agency for individual activities. A few days later, Woollim Entertainment CEO Lee Jung Yeop transferred the trademark rights for the name INFINITE over to the group so they could continue their activities without changing their group name.
