Yoo Kyung Wan, known by her stage name Jeong Yeon, is a South Korean singer and the lead vocalist of the girl group TWICE. She began training in music at a young age, learning to play the trumpet and saxophone. Jeong Yeon joined JYP Entertainment through its 6th Open Audition on March 1, 2010. Initially, she was set to debut in a girl group called 6Mix, but the project was canceled. In 2015, she gained recognition as a contestant on the reality show "Sixteen", leading to her selection as a member of TWICE. Jeong Yeon is the younger sister of actress Gong Seung Yeon. She has taken two breaks from her activities due to anxiety and panic disorder: the first from October 17, 2020, to January 31, 2021, and the second starting on August 18, 2021.
