Joanne, born in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County, is a Taiwanese actress, singer, and host. She graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts with a Drama & Theater degree. She plays the piano, flute, and violin. She can speak Mandarin, Taiwanese, English, and Atayal. In 2002, Joanne along with Esther Liu formed a Mandopop duo girl group called Sweety and they debuted in 2003, at the time of their debut both members were only 14 years old. Sweety was active from 2003 to 2006 and so far the duo has released 3 studio albums and 2 soundtracks, but Sweety went on hiatus as a group since 2007 when member Esther went to Paris to study for a few years, while Joanne has since continued with her solo career. As of 2016, Sweety still remains inactive as a group as both members have been focusing on their solo careers since their hiatus in 2007. Apart from singing, both members have also acted in movies and TV series, since her debut Joanne has appeared and starred in a long list of TV series/dramas in Taiwan and mainland China. Joanne is currently signed with HIM International Music. In 2017, Tseng relaunched her singing career by releasing her solo debut music video, eleven years after Sweety released their final album. In 2015, she won Best Screen Couple with Melvin Sia. In 2018, she won the Most Popular Newcomer award and Most Style Celebrity award. In 2021, she won Generation Z Most Popular Community Artist Award. On January 23, 2020, Joanne and Taiwanese singer and actor Calvin Chen announced their marriage.
