Katagiri Ryuji is a Japanese actor from Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi, Japan. He belongs to Toei Management (former Toei Actor Center). After working at Osaka Gas , he joined Toei company in 1969 as a 13th gen member of Toei New Face., and in 1971, he made his full-scale debut in the movie " Queen Bee Strikes Again". He played many villains such as yakuza and thugs in yakuza movies, historical dramas, and police dramas, but since the beginning of the 90s, the number of good character roles has increased. In 2016, in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the actor's life, the first movie "A Long Way Off the Kilimanjaro" was produced..
