Kitamura Kazuo was a Japanese actor and voice actor born in Takehaya, Koishikawa, Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from the Arts Department of Waseda University's Faculty of Literature. Kitamura was associated with the Bungakuza theater company, where he began as a research student in 1950 and became a full member in 1955. He made his stage debut in 1951 with "The People of Mount Kunlun" and later became a leading actor at Bungakuza. From 1997, he served as the president of the Japanese New Theater Actors Association. Kitamura's educational background includes Tokyo Metropolitan No. 11 Junior High School, Kensu Technical School, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and the preparatory course at Nihon University’s Mishima campus. His family includes his son, actor Kitamura Yukiya, and his daughter, actress Kitamura Yuri. Kitamura Kazuo passed away from respiratory failure due to pneumonia on May 6, 2007, at a hospital in Shinjuku, Tokyo, at the age of 80. (Source: MyDramaList).
