Ko released his first music album, "Speak Your Mind", on November 11, 2011. In 2014, he was involved in a drug scandal with Fang Zu Ming, which impacted his acting career. On January 9, 2023, while filming the Netflix series "The Spirit of the Medium", a drone camera malfunctioned and crashed into his cheekbone, resulting in facial lacerations that required 30 stitches.
