Lee Hong Ki is a South Korean singer, actor, musical actor, soloist and member of FT ISLAND(FT아일랜드). He graduated from Seongji High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in information and communication studies from Kyung Hee University. He enlisted for his mandatory military service on September 30, 2019, and was discharged on April 18, 2021. He first appeared on TV in a 2001 episode of "Love On The Air Season 1" before making his official debut as a child actor in the 2002 series "Magic Kid, Ma Soo Ri" (매직키드 마수리). He also earned a role in the musical "A Midsummer Night's Dream." In June 2007, Hong Ki made his debut as a musician and FT Island's main vocalist, visual and face of the group, with their first studio album, "Cheerful Sensibility." Later that year, the band won Best New Male Group at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Popularity and Rookie of the Year awards at the Golden Disk Awards. On June 8, 2008, they made their Japanese debut with the EP "Prologue of FT Island: Soyogi." After Choi Jong Hoon's scandal in March 2019, FNC Entertainment (FNC엔터테인먼트) named him as the new leader.
