Okamura Fumiko was a Japanese actress from Nagano. Japan. After graduating from Nagano City Nabeyada Elementary School and Nagano Prefectural Nagano High School for Girls, she moved to Tokyo. She began her career as an actress after being apprenticed to a noble family of art enthusiasts to learn manners. In 1917, she joined the Asakusa Opera and made her stage debut in "Heaven and Hell". Subsequently, she transitioned from the Genichiro Oohara Opera Troupe to the Shinsei Song and Dance Troupe. In 1921, she joined the Shochiku Kamata Film Studio and made her film debut in "Cliff of Devils". She returned to Asakusa Opera once again and in 1924, she joined the Toa Kinema Koyo Film Studio. In 1925, she returned to the Shochiku Kamata Film Studio. In 1927, she was promoted to a quasi-executive position. She left the studio in 1930 but returned to the Shochiku Ofuna Film Studio in 1936. In 1939, she was promoted to an executive position. Even after the war, she continued to demonstrate her presence in Shochiku films. From 1951, she entered into a priority contract with Daiei Studios and appeared in films produced by Daiei, Toho, and Shintoho, among others. In 1958, she became a freelance actress, and by 1963, she was affiliated with the First Religious Sect. She retired in 1973. During her time at the Shochiku Ofuna Film Studio, she was regarded as a mentor by younger actors and actresses. She passed away in 1976 at the age of 77.
