Mai Te Lo, also known as Robert Mak, started studying Kung Fu at age 12. He appeared in the action film "To Kill A Mastermind", but did not attract popular notice till after winning Hong Kong's first disco dancing competition in 1979. Nicknamed "Dance King", he placed fourth in an international dance contest and returned to Shaw Brothers for the lead role in "Disco Bumpkin". Between 1981-1985, he starred in another ten SB films, and since then has acted in numerous films and television series. Still remembered for his early glory on the disco floor, he played a character named "Dance King" in the 2002 ATV series "Innocently Guilty". (Source: Celestial Pictures).
