Shin Hyo Bum is a South Korean singer. She graduated from Songgok Girls' High School and made her debut in 1988 by winning the gold prize with the song "Your Shadow" at the 2nd MBC Rookie Song Festival. A year later, she officially began career with her 1st album and immediately impressed producers and other singers with her high notes and the ability to manage her breathing efficiently during her songs. During the 1990s, she was called the Korean Whitney Houston and her ballad, "I Knew I'd Fall in Love", became one of the preferred songs in Korean karaokes. Despite being recognized as one of South Korea's best female singers, she remained somewhat obscure for the younger generations, especially when singers like Kim Wan Sun, Lee Eun Mi and Lee So Ra began gaining more popularity. In 2012, she appeared in several episodes of "I Am Singer" and later began appearing in other variety shows such as the first few seasons of "Kick a Goal" so, now, her songs are re-gaining the attention of the public.
