Yong Jun Hyung
Other Name: 용준형
Age: 34
Birthday: December 19, 1989
Nationality: South Korean
Gender: Male
Yong Jae Soon, later legally changed to Yong Jun Hyung, is a South Korean singer, dancer, lyricist, composer, producer and former member of XING (씽) and HIGHLIGHT (하이라이트; previously known as BEAST (비스트)). He graduated from Anyang Arts High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Applied Music from Dongshin University and a master's degree in Media Literature Creation from Kyunghee Cyber University. He made his debut in August 2007 (under the stage name Poppin' Dragon) when he joined XING. The group had already debuted 8 months earlier, but XING Entertainment faced internal problems that led to several lineup changes. He participated in the re-release of the repackaged single album "My Girl". He ultimately chose to leave the group almost one year after debuting. After switching agencies to CUBE Entertainment (큐브엔터테인먼트), he re-debuted in October 2009 as BEAST's main rapper with their first EP, "Beast is the B2st". They initially received attention as some members had failed in previous auditions and were even called a "recycled group". However, the group has achieved significant commercial success and critical accolades and is one of the most awarded groups of all time at the Golden Disc Awards, the Seoul Music Awards, and the Melon Music Awards. He made his debut as a soloist in December 2013 with the mini-album "Flower" and also had minor roles in a few dramas. In late 2016, their contracts with CUBE ended, and they decided to create a new independent agency called Around Us Entertainment (어라운드어스 엔터테인먼트). They were not able to keep the name trademark, and in March 2017, he re-debuted as part of HIGHLIGHT with their EP, "Can You Feel It?". In March 2019, he became involved in a controversy (part of the Burning Sun Scandal) when he received an adult-related video (taped and sent without the woman’s consent) via private message from Jung Joon Young and did not report it. A few days later, he apologized for his actions and decided to leave the group. He enlisted for his mandatory military service on April 2, 2019, but suffered a serious meniscus injury and required surgery. The recovery was slow and painful, so he was transferred to public service duty and was finally discharged on February 26, 2021. After his release, he joined a songwriters group called GOOD LIFE and, in October 2022, he created his own label, Black Made (블랙메이드). (Source: MyDramaList).
