Tanwarin Sukkhapisit, nicknamed Golf, is a non-binary filmmaker, actor, writer and politician born in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. Tanwarin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University (French Major and English Minor). In the 2019 Thai general election, Tanwarin was elected to parliament, becoming Thailand's first-ever openly transgender MP in the House of Representatives. Tanwarin became interested in filmmaking at a very young age. After working as an English teacher for a while, they quit their job and devoted themselves entirely to the film industry, where they became known for such films as“It Gets Better” (2012), “Pump Namman” (2016) and “Insects in the Backyard ”(2010). In 2012, Tanwarin was elected president of the Thai Film Director's Association. In 2020, they were nominated for Best Direction (Fiction) at the 24th Asian Television Awards for their film 'Payak Rai Sai Lub' (2019). Tanwarin's cinematographic work is extensive. They have acted alternately as director, screenwriter, actor, director of acting, or producer on nearly a hundred productions including lakorn, television series, film and short film.
