Iida Joji is a Japanese film director, screenwriter, television drama director, and novelist born in Suwa, Nagano, Japan. He attended Suwa Seiryo High School and later dropped out of Meiji University. Iida began his career as an independent filmmaker and has written scripts for the "Tales of the Unusual" series under the pen name Nakamura Koichi (中村功一).
