Born in Tokyo in 1975. After making 8mm films as a college student, Jojo Hideo worked as an assistant director on softcore “pink films” and direct-to-video (“V Cinema”) films before debuting as a filmmaker. He has since released many films and has directed over 100 films at this point. On the Edge of Their Seats (2020) and Dangerous Drugs of Sex (2020) were back-to-back box office hits in Japan. He is the recipient of a Special Award at the 12th Tama Cinema Forum, as well as awards for best director at the 42nd Yokohama Film Festival and the 30th Japanese Professional Movie Awards.
