Duan Ran (English name: Clarence) is a Chinese actor, born in Huainan, Anhui Province. He was the main player of his high school football team. Graduating from junior high, he was selected into the professional football team and received several years of professional football training. However, he gave up his sports career under his family's persuasion, and was admitted to a university with a bachelor's degree in sports. After graduation, he worked for a large media company, responsible for event planning. Because of his love for acting since childhood, he often shot microfilms during his spare time and performed sketches in some cultural evenings. By chance, he landed a cameo role in a small budget film, playing a security captain. It is through the performance of this role that gained recognition from Chinese director Tan Yi Zhi and the producer of Hefei Aries Culture Media Co Ltd. He became a contract actor, thus transforming and embarking on the road of film and television. In 2016, he made his debut in the big online movie "Black and White", playing gang leader Bai Ge. In December 2017, he starred in the local tax-themed micromovie "Accounting" which won the "Outstanding Work Award of the 2nd Golden Kite International Microfilm Festival".
