Daughter of Fung Fung, sister of Fung Hak On, Fung Bo Bo was born in Malaysia. Her father was the renowned Cantonese movie actor/director Feng Feng. Feng was probably the best-known child actor in the history of Hong Kong and has been compared to Shirley Temple. Fung appeared in her first movie at the age of four. Fung has appeared in almost 100 films in the 1960s, including Period Dramas, Cantonese Operas movies and modern drama and musical, the most remarkable one such as Magic Cup, Wonder Boy, The Great Devotion etc. Fung used to join Shaw Brothers and appeared in movies like Four Sisters, Temple Of The Red Lotus and The Twin Swords. Fung and her sister Feng Su Bo, and other superstars such as, Shum Chi Wah, Connie Chan, Josephine Siao, Nancy Sit and Wang Ai Ming were collectively known as the “Seven Princesses”. By the late 60s, she transformed herself from playing child roles to female masquerading as male hero. Fung joined Rediffusion TV in 1978 and moved to TVB in 1980 where she starred in a number of movies. In 1983, Fung returned to ATV and starred in a well-liked historical costume drama series Empress Wu Zetian and Emperor Chin which received high ratings. Fung returned to the big screen in the 1990s. Her performance in 92 Legendary La Rose Noire and C’est La Vie Mon Cheri won her two consecutive Best Supporting Actress Awards at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
