Lee Young Pyo is a South Korean retired footballer who played left back. He graduated from Konkuk University and then debuted in the K-League with the Anyang LG Cheetahs (currently known as FC Seoul) in 2000. He was immediately selected to be a starter with his amazing dribbling and passing abilities and helped with the team's championship in his debut year. The team finished second at the Asian Club Championship the following season. In 2002, Dutch coach Guus Hiddink selected Lee for the South Korean national team and played in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He followed Hiddink and his teammate Park Ji Sung and in 2003 moved to the Netherlands to play for PSV Eindhoven where he played for 2 years and managed to reach the semifinals of the 2005 UEFA Champions League. He then moved to England and played for Tottenham Hotspurs for 3 years with mixed success. In 2009, he moved to Borussia Dortmund in Germany spending one season before moving to Saudi Arabia to play for Al Hilal. Despite doubts about being in a different culture than his, he spent 3 years there and played in nearly 50 games.
