Patrick Tam is a Hongkongese singer and actor. He grew up in Jordan, Kowloon, Hong Kong, and during his school years, he participated in singing competitions at lounges in Kwai Chung, showcasing skills in rhythm and beatboxing. Tam attended the Canton Road Government Primary School and St. John's College. After completing Form Five, Tam worked as a clerk in a garment factory, involved in inventory management and order placement. Soon after, he joined an acrobatic troupe as a performer. In early 1988, at the age of 19, Tam participated in the "SING Singing Star" singing competition on TVB's "Enjoy Yourself Tonight." In July 1988, he joined the 7th New Talent Singing Awards organized by TVB and the Capital Artists, where he won the Gold Award and the Golden Mike Award In 1993, Tam signed a management contract with TVB and transitioned to acting. His contract with TVB concluded in 1998. His performance in the film "Beast Cops" earned him the Hong Kong Film Award and the Hong Kong Film Golden Bauhinia Award for "Best Supporting Actor." In 2003, he returned to TVB briefly, and from 1999 to 2002, he was under the China Star Entertainment Group. However, in mid-2004, he was poached by the Emperor Group. He left the China Star Entertainment Group in the same year and joined Emperor Motion Pictures, an affiliate of the Emperor Group, only to leave after a few years. In 2015, Patrick Tam won the "Outstanding Supporting Actor Award" at the San Diego Film Festival for the film "Let's Stop the War," as well as the "Best Actor Award" at the New York Film Festival. Later, he won the "Outstanding Actor Award" in the competition at the Depth of Field International Film Festival in the United States. In 2020, Patrick Tam established his own YouTube channel and performed a cover of "Song of the Long Night" to encourage healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. From 1999 to 2000, Patrick Tam was in a relationship with Sharon Chan. Later, he began dating Fiona, who worked as the owner of a beauty salon.
