Kim Tae Hyung, better known by his stage name V, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, dancer, record producer, actor, and member of the boy group BTS. He was born in Seo District, Daegu, South Korea. He moved to Kajang, then moved back to Daegu, before moving to Seoul. V graduated from Global Cyber University with a major in Broadcasting and Entertainment. As of 2021, he is enrolled at Hanyang Cyber University, pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media. V made his debut on June 13, 2013, as a member of BTS on Mnet's M! Countdown with the track "No More Dream" from their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. Together with the members of BTS, he went on to win a series of awards and has performed at several events such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and is the receiver of 7 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) along with the members of BTS. He has produced and written 10+ songs with writing credits, including BTS classics such as "Run" and many solo songs like "Stigma", "Singularity", and "Inner Child". He has also written OST's for two dramas. "Sweet Night" (Itaewon Class OST), and "Christmas Tree" (Our Beloved Summer OST). V debuted as an actor in the 2016 series "Hwarang" (화랑). Alongside the other members of BTS, V was awarded the Hwagwan of Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea for spreading Korean culture and language to the world. He graduated from Global Cyber University with bachelor’s degrees in Entertainment & Media in August 2020 He enrolled in Hanyang Cyber University’s graduate school for an MBA in Advertising & Media in September 2020. He was given the President’s Award at Global Cyber University’s Graduation Ceremony on March 1, 2021. On September 8, 2023, V made his official debut as a solo artist with the release of the singles "Love Me Again" and "Rainy Days". His debut solo album, "Layover", was released on the same day.
