Wakao Ayako is a Japaneses actress. She has appeared in over 100 films and won a handful of Best Actress awards. During the 50s and 60s, she starred alongside Daiei’s most famous actors in many of the studios biggest movies, including 20 films from maverick director Yasuzo MASUMURA. Her most prestigious appearance came as Kayo in Yasujiro OZU’s 1959 classic Ukigusa (Floating Weeds)..
