Yang Huai Min was born in Fujian, China. In 1972, during his freshman year, he learned Peking Opera from opera veteran Guan Wenwei. In 1974, he was admitted to the second actor training class of Taiwanese television station China TV (CTV). After graduating in 1975, Yang Huaimin signed a 2-year contract with CTV and was awarded the Best Actor Award for his role in the drama "Confucius" later that same year. In 1984, he held public performances for CTV and was cast as Huangfu Shaohua in the opera "Meng Lijun". In 1992, he began working behind the scenes as a producer for several televised dramas. Yang also produced "Misty Rain In Qinghua", the first eight-point Taiwanese opera, in 2001 and served as a lecturer at the National Taiwan Academy of Chinese Opera. He played Zheng Yunsheng in the 2014 TV series Happiness On The Moon, during which he sustained a spine injury. Most recently, he played the role of Min Ge in the series "The Good Wife Of The Kim Family" in 2018..
