Fujisawa Hirokazu was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1981. He graduated from the Department of Sociology at Kwansei Gakuin University. He started creating independent films while still in university. After graduating, he participated in the film "Pacchigi!" (Directed by: Ikutsu Kazuyuki) as a volunteer staff member. Afterward, he moved to Tokyo and gained experience as an assistant director under the guidance of many directors.
