Yamagiwa Eizo is a Japanese film director, director, and critic from Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. He is Ishii Teruo's production representative and managing director of the Directors Guild of Japan. He graduated from Keio University Faculty of Letters, Department of French Literature. His grandson is Yamagiwa Kaito, an actor. After joining Shintoho Film Manufacturing Co., Ltd., he became an assistant director in "Tasogare Sakaba" (1955) directed by Uchida Tomu. After the bankruptcy of Shintoho in 1961, he made his directorial debut with "Kyonetsu no Hate". Since 1964, he has directed many television films exclusively for international broadcasting.
