Description:

In 1949 the People's Liberation Army got to Xinjiang and established the Xinjiang Military Region where Gan Zuchang served as the Deputy Minister of Logistics. During this time, a war on prices erupted through monopolization of resources. Gan Zuchang did his best to combat this by influencing the market and eventually stabilizing the market. Gan Zuchang became a target and was the victim of a car accident where he suffered head injuries. He was awarded the rank of major general but decided to return to his hometown due to his injuries.
